ACCURATE DIAGNOSIS, STRUCTURED TREATMENT

In cases of cervical spine tumours and metastases with severe instability problems present or anticipated then stabilization with the most rigid and strongest method is required. Cervical pedicle screws (CPS) have three times the pull out strength of lateral mass screws and are thus preferred when the utmost stability is required. There placement however is a more technically demanding procedure than lateral mass screw placement.
